A private three-bedroom teak villa with a twelve-metre pool, in Anyar, Canggu.
Villa Kawi is a teak house under a steep Javanese roof, set around a twelve-metre pool and filled with art from across Indonesia. It sleeps six guests in three suites and is let to one household at a time.
Built in the joglo tradition of Central Java, furnished by the Blue Karma family, and collected over many years.
A carved teak joglo with a steep gable rising over the pool. Traditional Javanese joinery, opened up with tall glass for tropical living.
Warm timber, linen and lime-washed walls, with low furniture made for long days by the pool.
Sculpture, painting and old carved doors, gathered across the islands by the Blue Karma family.
Glass gables bring daylight into every room, and the garden can be seen from the whole house.
Private to the villa, with loungers, daybeds and a garden lawn alongside. The master suite opens straight onto the deck.
Glass doors fold back along the house, so the living room, kitchen and dining pavilion all open to the pool and garden.
Two mezzanine suites under the teak gable and a master suite on the ground floor beside the pool. Each has its own bathroom.
On the ground floor, opening onto the pool deck through tall glass doors, with a sitting corner and a stone bathroom.
Under the teak gable, with a king bed facing the triangular window and the pool below.
A second mezzanine suite with its own window over the water and timber shelves along the gable.
Book the whole villa, or close off the suites you do not need. The pool, garden and living spaces are always private to your group.
